May 2017 – HB 22 passed by the 85th Texas Legislature
Fall 2017 – Start of pilot group to design local accountability
Winter 2017 – Task Force launches on how to incorporate extracurricular activities
Spring 2018 – Rules finalized for domain system
August 2018 – 3 domain system rates all campuses and district. Takes effect as follows: Districts – A-F Rating Labels; Campuses – Continue Improvement Required or Met Standard
Fall 2018 – Rules adopted for local accountability system and application window opens
January 2019 – “What if” report on Campus performance, based on prior year
August 2019 – Campuses: A-F labels take effect and local accountability system is incorporated
Note: We have had requests to help calculate and predict A-F ratings and are unable to do so at this time since the metrics have not been determined. Please pass along to your colleagues.
House Bill 22 Overview and Next Steps WEBINAR

This zoom session will provide an overview and next steps for House Bill 22, the next phase in the Texas State Accountability System. ESC Region 12 staff will provide the most current information available as of August 2017 with considerations given to what districts and campuses can already begin to do to proactively face the opportunities that lie ahead. A zoom link and most current resources will be sent a few days prior to the session to all registered participants. In addition, participants will also be invited to submit questions prior to the session.
